Inclusive performance management

What if your business was designed for people, instead of the output you want to generate?
Seems counter-intuitive, right?
Yet when you think about it- your people are your biggest asset. It is your people who are delivering your services/ products.
All too often we get sucked into process and making sure things are by-the-book. In doing this thinking about how they will work for people often gets forgotten. (and quite frankly, this is the root of most problems in the first place... )
Take performance management as a starter for 10
What you want from this is a way to help people to perform in the roles they have been employed in. And whatever your driver, you want your people to excel. Make money. Deliver the change in the world you want to see. All of that good stuff.
The question is whether it is designed with this end in mind.
Or has it been designed defensively- to provide evidence and meet a process need?
What if you started with the end purpose in mind- to have a consistent, reliable way to have a business full of people who are enthusiastic at their job, and do it really super well and that meets the wide variety of needs they have?
What would that look like?
Maybe a business that is full of people doing what you need and want them to do... with happiness and enthusiasm...?
Performance management starts at the point an employee walks through your door the first time...
And if you get that right... you are inclusive by design.
